Student of the Day:

OHS Ballroom Team:
The team danced well last night and made it into Division II of the competition. This means they will be dancing in the following categories as a team today:
Utah High School Team Match - 7:00 p.m.
Standard Formation Team Medley - 8:00 p.m.
Latin Formation Team Medley - 9:30 p.m.
Let’s go and support our Ballroom Team!! Good Luck!!

"High Five for Haiti and Chile":
This Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. Orem High will be hosting a showcase for the Haiti and Chile Earthquake Victims. Come and support this great cause. The cost will be $5.00 for admission and the red cross will be there accepting more donations. Come and enjoy the show and performances from several Orem High students and Mr. Ellingford’s newest magic tricks!

Students: Do you still want a "Year of the Tiger" T-shirt, but don’t know where to get one? Come down to OHMI, school store. Year of the Tiger T-shirts are available for only $5.00. I can’t think of a better way to spend $5.00.

Hygiene Kit Donation Drive:
The Life Skills Class is collecting hygiene items for Humanitarian Aid hygiene kits. Items needed: unbreakable combs (no sharp handles), toothbrushes (packaged), bars of soap (about 4 to 5 oz.), hand towels (new, about 15" by 25", bath towels not kitchen towels.). They will be collecting items until March 26th. Please bring them to room A-22.

"Hands On" Exhibit:
Zach and the science team has approved StemWorks to bring their "hands on" Exhibit to our science classes. They will be here March 16th - 19th . James has approved the Media Center for this event.

Student Government Cabinet Packets:
These are in the front office. They are due tomorrow, March 12th by 2:30.

Orem High Cheerleading Try Outs:
For all of those interested in trying out for cheerleader, there is an important try out information meeting next Monday, March 15th at 3:00 p.m. in the OHS Cafeteria. For more information please pick up a flyer in the office.

A GREAT OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE FROM THE OREM CITY POLICE DEPT!
Captain Ned Jackson of the Orem City Police Department is creating a Law Enforcement Explorer Post for those Orem High students who want to learn more about a career in Police, Fire, and Ambulance Services. If you have always dreamed of being a police officer, a firefighter, or a paramedic, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. For more information please see Mr. Wakefield.

Junior Boys: If you are interested in learning about functions of government and our judicial system go to the counseling office and pick up an application. This individual will spend June 7th thru June 11th at Weber State University. This student will earn 3 college credits and be able to apply for scholarships. Last year students were awarded $320,000 in various scholarships. The application deadline is April 1st. This is for as many boys who would like to go.

Argus: The deadline for submissions to the Argus has been extended til tomorrow, Friday, March 12th at 5 p.m. For more information, talk to Mr. Replogle in E-26.
